The Implications of Imminence
Imminence may be defined as the state of being imminent, or impending. It is the characteristic of something likely to occur at any moment. It may also be accompanied by a sense of foreboding, an ominous feeling, a portentous notion, a strong inner sense, or an intuition. If one is attentive and careful, knowledge may produce wise decisions, guide behavior and experience, and even avoid catastrophes. In a recent article written by Lee W. Brainard (I encourage you to read this before getting too far into this post), Lee proposes some interesting insights about imminence with respect to Bible prophecy. Building a bit upon his thoughts about random versus signs-based imminence, I believe there are those who do not believe in imminence or a rapture at all, thus they are unconcerned or ignorant of their prophetic significance.
